Maya Meshel is a documentary photographer and photojournalist based in Jerusalem, Israel. looking for the human detail inside the larger story - and for the images that make it harder to look away.

Her work focuses on people and society - individuals in crisis, refugees fleeing war zones, and those who have chosen unconventional paths.

Since 2022, she has been a member of the Israeli Government Press Office.
In 2025, her work "The Girls of Maoz Ester" earned third place in the Long Exposure category at the Local Testimony 2025 awards. In March 2024, she exhibited her work on women from the October 7th war at the "Eden" Gallery in SoHo, New York and in Miami.
In 2026, she was selected as a finalist at the Siena International Photography Awards.
